Wellness Care

During a wellness exam, our veterinary team will start out by taking your pet’s weight, temperature, heart rate, and breathing rate. We will get a complete history of your pet including eating habits, exercise, behavior, and any concerns you may have. Our veterinarians will perform a comprehensive examination of your pet from nose to tail. We will evaluate your pet’s health history to determine if your pet is in need of our “routine” care, such as heartworm testing, parasite prevention, and vaccines. Based on the history and exam, we may recommend additional testing such as evaluating blood or urine, taking x-rays, or other more specific tests.

Preventative Health Care

Regular office visits are one of the most important things you can do to keep your pet happy and healthy. We recommend annual wellness exams at a minimum. As your pet ages, we recommend multiple wellness exams throughout the year to detect any health changes as soon as they occur. Early detection and management of health problems will help to ensure that your pet will love a long, healthy and active life.

We recommend all animals are seen annually for wellness services to stay current on all vaccinations, heartworm & tick borne illness testing, as well as testing for intestinal parasites. We also recommend keeping your pets on year-round heartworm, flea & tick preventatives.
