Dr. Jennifer Wendt received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from Michigan State University in 2008. She worked for her first two years at a small animal practice in Midland, MI before starting at MI in 2010. Dr. Wendt completed the purchase of MI in January 2016 and has been the sole owner ever since. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Wendt was a contracted organic chemist for 2 years at the Dow Chemical Company. In the days of LCD televisions, Dr. Wendt was working on developing the polymeric light emitting diode (pLED) technology. Since being a veterinarian was a dream she had since she was a child, she decided to apply for veterinary school and see if she could make that dream a reality. Dr. Wendt has five children, ranging from elementary school to college age. All her children are very active in sports, so you may see her around the area on the sidelines of a softball game, football game, or staying warm inside a hockey rink. She also has three dogs, and many rescue cats who have all come as fosters or as cats who need veterinary care and have never left. Outside of work, Dr. Wendt enjoys watching her kids at their sporting events all year round or taking camping trips with her immediate and extended family.
